🚨 Crime Awareness Message – Theft from Motor Vehicles 🚨

We are urging residents to remain vigilant following an increase in theft from motor vehicles, particularly in the Ashby area. Officers are carrying out additional patrols, but we need your help to reduce these offences.

Many of the recent incidents have involved vehicles that were left unlocked or with valuables visible inside. Thieves are actively checking car doors during the night and taking advantage of any opportunity.

Please help us protect our community by taking a few simple steps:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only leaving it for a short time.
👜Remove valuables such as bags, wallets, laptops, tools, and loose change.
📱Take dashcams, mobile phones and sat-navs inside and wipe away suction cup marks.
🌙Park in well‑lit areas or on a driveway whenever possible.
🏠Keep keys away from doors and windows to reduce the risk of key‑scanning or key theft.
👀Report suspicious activity—even something small could help prevent further offences.

If you see anyone trying car doors, looking into vehicles, or acting suspiciously:

➡️ Use 101 or the online reporting system for non-emergencies.
